The aim of the project, conducted in partnership with the Moreland Community Health Service and the Fawkner Maternal and Child Health Nurse, is to improve access to healthy, affordable and culturally appropriate food for Pakistani mothers experiencing difficulties in this area. Adopting a peer education approach, the project equips peer educators to assist in educating and training women in their community about children’s dietary considerations, and sound food shopping and preparation skills that support traditional food practices. The project is funded by the Moreland City Council. |
