| Cross-Cultural & Community Education |
MWCV provides seminars and lectures to non-Muslim community groups, educational institutions and local government bodies on Islam and the culturally diverse groups which make up the Muslim community. Many Australians, including Muslims, find some practices or customs amongst different Muslim cultural groups disturbing e.g. female circumcision. MWCV aims to provide information which differentiates between Islamic and cultural groups in the hope of dispelling misconceptions that Islam for example, promotes or endorses such practices.Islamic classes are offered to Muslim women and children aimed at educating them in the differences between the religion and customs from countries of their origin. Islamic classes have also been facilitated to ensure that the core religion of these participants is promoted and developed. Spirituality is a critical strength and helps to build the foundation of individual’s and a family’s wellbeing. |
